Best time to buy: September-November

Prices peak in spring when warm-season grasses break dormancy and demand surges. Fall clearance offers the best deals. Often sold as an annual in colder zones, which keeps prices competitive.
Pro tip: In zones 9-11 where it is perennial, buy in early spring for the full growing season. In colder zones, treat as a seasonal annual and look for late-spring deals.
